Shungite was first found in Shunga Village in Karelia, Russia, which is where is gets its name from.
It is a black stone that is mostly made of carbon and is connected to the Root Chakra.
This stone is said to help with cleansing, balance and grounding.
Historically this stone has been used to create paint pigments and can be found being sold under the names “carbon black” or “shungite natural black”.
